What's going on with the One For the Money movie?
They've been working on a script for a number of years now. If anything exciting ever happens we'll be sure to post it on the site right away.
Who can I write about getting the One For the Money movie going?
A reader sent this in a while ago...
"Janet and Alex and Fellow Fans: Just FYI, I did a little searching on the web. Tri Star Pictures is owned by Sony Pictures. The President of Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group is Jeff Blake and his address is: c/o TriStar Pictures, 10202 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232. Their phone number is (310) 244-7700. This can be verified at Sony Pictures' website: www.sonypictures.com. (I got the address and phone number from www.switchboard.com.) "
Who would Janet like to see cast in the movie?
Janet saw Miss Congeniality and loved Sandra Bullock. Thought she would make a great Stephanie.
When is Janet coming to my city/country on tour?
I'm afraid we don't know the answer to this one. Every year we try to switch cities around so that we can visit new places or places we haven't seen in a while. Hopefully your city and/or country will be on the next tour. Keep watching the Tour Dates located in the NEWS section for info on where Janet will be signing.
I have a mis-printed book / I'm missing pages / Someone else's book has taken over a chapter of your book. What do I do?
Take the book back to the store you bought it at. They will gladly exchange it for a new, good copy. If you don't live near the store you bought it at, you can take the bad book to any large chain (Barnes and Noble, Borders, Books-A-Millions, etc.) and they will exchange it for you. You do not need a receipt to exchange a misprinted book.
Has Janet written any books other than the Plum novels?
Yes. Prior to the Plum series Janet wrote romance novels. Three under the name Steffie Hall and nine under Janet Evanovich. You can find a complete, printable list of Janet's published work in the NOVELS menu in the upper left of this page. Also, in 2004, Metro Girl was released followed by Motor Mouth in 2006.
What authors does Janet like to read?
Janet reads Betty and Veronica and Donald Duck comic books. Junie B. Jones by Barbara Park is another favorite. And the books stacked at bedside include Amanda Quick, Nora Roberts, Elmore Leonard, Robert Crais, Robert Parker, and Ridley Pearson (if she's feeling brave).
Is there a real Joe Morelli and Ranger?
We wish!
How many more Plum books does Janet intend to write?
She doesn't know. She is currently contracted through book sixteen, and doesn't have any plans to stop writing about Stephanie and the gang. She's having too much fun!
Who is reading the audios for the next Plum novel, and why isn't it CJ Critt/Lori Petty/Debbie Mazar?
Lean Mean Thirteen will be an Audio Renaissance (now known as Macmillan Audio) audiobook recording for St. Martin's Press. The reader for both abridged and UNabridged will be Lorelei King. She has done a fantastic job on all of the UK Plum audios. She does not read with a British accent. She has been nominated for a CWA award for one of her Stephanie Plum readings. CJ Critt can not do the reading because she is exclusive to Recorded Books and therefore can not read for any company other than Recorded Books. Recorded Books used to do the UNabridged versions of audio books for Audio Rennaissance (now Macmillan Audio), but that contract ended a few years ago.
Janet, what is your work day really like?
I drag myself out of bed around six, shove myself into the clothes laying on the floor and plod down the road after the dog. I eat a boring breakfast of skim milk, orange juice and healthy cereal because when I wake up I always think I'm Christie Brinkley and it seems like something Christie would do. Then I shuffle into the office I share with a really rude parrot. The dog follows after me and flops onto his bed to take a nap. (Next time around I want to be my dog.) I stare at the computer screen for about four hours, sometimes actually typing some sentences. I chew gum and drink green tea to keep myself from falling out of my chair in a catatonic stupor. At noon I'm suddenly filled with energy and rush to the refrigerator, hoping a pineapple upside-down cake with lots of whipped cream has mysteriously appeared. Finding none, I make a tuna or peanut butter and olive sandwich. I go back to my office and visualize myself getting exercise. I play an amazing game of mental tennis. In my mind's eye I look great in the little tennis dress. Very athletic. When I'm done playing tennis I stare at the computer screen some more. When nothing appears on the screen I drive down to the local store and buy a bag of Cheez Doodles. I eat the Cheez Doodles and manage to actually write several pages. When I'm done with the Doodles and pages I wander out of my office looking for someone to whine at because I just made myself fat. (I'm only Christie Brinkley in the morning. In the afternoon I'm Roseanne.) I alternate typing and whining for the rest of the afternoon until about five when I emerge from my office, once again hoping for the pineapple cake.
