Stephanie Plum - Probably the only bounty hunter in the New Jersey area without her own pair of handcuffs.
Vincent plum - aka Vinnie. Proprietor of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds, a hole-in-the-wall on Hamilton Ave. At least its across the street from the bakery.
Martin Poulson - Jumbo-sized FTA who was arrested for credit card fraud and being a genuinely obnoxious person.
Joe Juniak - Former police chief and now mayor of Trenton.
Ziggy - Joe Juniak's second cousin.
Gloria Jean - Stephanie's cousin-in-law. She's married to Joe Juniak's second cousin Ziggy.
Valerie - Stephanie's sister. She recently left her husband and moved back in with the parents.
Frank Plum - Stephanie's father. It been a long haul for him and now he has to live with Grandma Mazur, but at least he gets pot roast for dinner once a week.
Helen Plum - Stephanie's mother. She a proper burg housewife. Dinner is always on time, her windows are clean and she can iron like nobody's business.
Angie - Valerie's nine-year-old daughter. She's prim and proper, just like Valerie was at her age.
Mary Alice - Valerie's seven-year-old kid. Unlike Angie, she's the kid from hell. She also thinks she's a horse.
Grandma Mazur - Stephanie's grandmother. She moved in with Stephanie's parents when Grandpa Mazur bought the farm. She's in her mid-seventies and she doesn't look a day over ninety.
Mabel Markowitz - She owns the other half of Stephanie's parents' two-family duplex. She bakes constantly.
Izzy Markowitz - Mabel's husband. He drank himself into an early grave.
Evelyn Soder - Mabels' granddaughter. She was called "The Giggler" by Stephanie and Valerie as kids. Recently, she disappeared with her daughter.
Steven Soder - Evelyn's husband. Not the nicest guy in the world, he is rumored to have been abusive to Evelyn.
Annie Soder - Evelyn and Steven Soder's daughter.
Les Sebring - Proprietor of True Blue Bonds. He wrote a child custody bond on Annie Soder. He is rumored to have great legs.
Ranger - A Cuban-American with a body best described as Yum. He has skills that make Rambo look like an amateur. He probably only kills bad guys.
Charlie Schleckner - Recently deceased man who is laid out at Stiva's.
Stiva - Owner of the Burg's premier funeral home, which also serves as a center of news and entertainment for Burg residents.
Eddie Abruzzi - He owns the property where Evelyn and Steven Soder lived. He's also a loan shark with a bad reputation.
Carol Nadich - Woman who went to school with Stephanie. She works at the button factory and is married to Lennny Nadich.
Joanne - Steven Soder's new girlfriend. he moved in with her when he left Evelyn.
Rex - Stephanie's hamster. He lives in a soup can in an aquarium on the kitchen counter. he hides in his can when its light and runs on his wheel when its dark, but he will make special appearances for a raisin
Joe Morelli - Stephanie's sometime boyfriend, although his toothbrush is not currently in her bathroom. He's a Trenton cop who stared looking down Stephanie's shirt when they were kids and never got out of the habit.
Connie Rosolli - Vinnie's office manager. She's all business, all Italian, and all Jersey Girl.
Lula - Hired as a file clerk at Vinnie's office, she spends most of her time doing whatever she wants. She shoehorns herself into life.
Dickie Orr - Stephanie's ex-husband. He's the lawyer retained by Steven Soder during his divorce.
Joyce Barnhardt - Stephanie's arch-enemy. Stephanie caught Joyce fooling around with her husband shortly after the wedding.
Caroline Sawyer - Dickie's secretary. She's still a little scared of Stephanie from her last visit to Dickie's office.
Albert Kloughn - He was Evelyn Soder's divorce lawyer. His office is next to the laudromat and he got his degree through a correspondence course.
Melvin Darrrow - One of Eddie Abruzzi's goons.
Laura Minelllo - FTA who was picked up for "test driving" a brand-new red BMW without getting permission first.
Andy Bender - FTA who has a history of getting drunk and beating up on his wife. He once came after Stephanie with a chain saw.
Susan Marrone - A friend of Valerie's from school.
Jimmy Wizneski - A boy who liked Valerie in school.
Billy Bartolucci - Kid who Stephanie accidentally knocked down the stairs at school.
Jeanne Ellen Burrows - High-caliber bounty hunter who is looking for Evelyn and Annie Soder. She is the female equivalent of Ranger.
Mr. Spiga - Resident of Stephanie's building. He drives a 28 year old Oldsmobile.
Mrs. Bestler - Resident of Stephanie building who likes to play elevator operator.

Carl Costanza - Trenton cop who enjoys being first in the scene to a Stephanie Plum-induced disaster.
Big Dog - Costanza's partner.
